So I'm sitting here last night with four works in progress open and not progressing when I had a thought. A thought about a completely different fic.

Those of you whe know me well know that I have this fic that I have been sitting on since about a month after I got into this fandom. It's set at the end of Season 1, and starts when Steve is still in prison. It's a Hawaii Five-0/Moonlight/The Shield/Three Rivers/Criminal Minds/Whiteout Crossover that is already 25k long, but because so much time has slipped away between when I started and now, (mainly beecause I was wrangling with a plot inconsistency) I was concerned it was never going to be finished. Last night I had an epiphany of sorts. Only problem is that I need to make Doris something i'm not sure she is yet, oh that and I might have to add Law & Order:SVU to the crossover mix, and probably break 150k.

I have a whole fic series trying to outline itself in my head, but I can't quite get it to sit straight. Why? Because the most important part of the series - the timing and locations - I can't read.

Why so cryptic? Not really. I want to see the conflicts on the only obscured panel on this ) photo.

Translation? There is a whole series of fics waiting for the stroy behind how Steve got his medals, but I'm not even thinking about it until I can read where he's been.
kapuahi: (Tour of Duty - Home is Where you Dig It)
It's been raining all day here today. So it's been cold and miserable. I don't like cold and miserable. So what have I been up to?

I spent a lot of the day having a 'Tour of Duty' Marathon. I forget how much I love those guys and seeing that era portrayed on screen. Also I don't watch it enough. When they released the DVD's here they stripped the 60's music from it so, for me at least, they stripped at least half the soul from the show, but one of our cable stations has been playing it and I get my music back, including my beloved theme. It was funny watching it and seeing familiar Kualoa Ranch/Hawaiian locations, [livejournal.com profile] fatorangekat you'll know, was it only the first season they filmed there?

This evening I've been capping all the H50 episodes because I don't have a complete set of the good quality caps, but now I does.

I'm happily putting together the daily post for AOL daily as well, it's such a hardship wading through AOL pics, but I'm happy to take one for the team.

Also, I have a question for my wise and astute friends list.

Who thinks Danny is afraid of the water? I don't.

Lookie, I may have committed Coda to 3.03 and it's not my usual fare, it may be Chin & Steve.

If'n you're interested you might find it here - Grief

Also on a random note? The Steve in my icon always reminds me of Speed Keanu, am I right?
kapuahi: (H50 - Danny - Spoilers Here!)
So I'm a spoiler Whore. Sue me. I've collected up bits and peices that I know from upcoming episodes, up to 3.10. If you know anything else and feel inclined to share, consider this my grabby hands request.

It goes without saying, click the link you'll spoil yourself and that will be no fault of mine.

You know the rules )

Whilst watching SWAT this morning my thinky brain came out. What is it about certain remakes that works for the bulk of their particular fandoms and what makes it sink like a stone?

I love SWAT, both the movie and the TV Series it came from, y'all know my love of Hawaii Five 0 and I loved the original too, but in a similar vein I loved Dukes of Hazzard, hated the movie, same for the Addams Family, McHale's Navy and a myriad of others.

I'm pretty sure I'd kill to see Black Sheep Squadron remade, but only if they do it properly.

And then there is Charlie's Angels. Sexist or not I loved the original, could just barely tolerate the movies (but I think that was due to Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz and my love for them) and can't even take the abomination that is the remake series seriously.

What is it that makes us love the remakes so much? Is it our love for the new actors? The reworked story? our need to see our favourite characters from our youth continue to live? or something completely different?

Why is it that one Australian network can get an episode of one program 'hot off the satellite' and the very same network can't keep up with another program.

Yes Channel Ten I'm pointing my finger right at you.

Why is it that tonight we got an episode of Glee that is lucky to be 24 hours old in the US, but next Monday night we're only getting 217 of H50 (for those of you playing at home that's the one with the native warrior). Why is that so? Yes I'm Glee!ful at the Matt Bomer episode being here prior to my finding a download, but FFS if you're going to do it for one, do it for all or don't fucking do it at all. Even NCIS LA is only one episode behind.

I can't even begin to imagine the ways that you are going to fuck up the crossover episodes. Especially since here NCIS:LA screens prior to H50. I have visions of them playing the conclusion of the case prior to the H50 opening, because yes, the suits are that stupid.

And then there is another network that has been playing Once Upon a Time 'sneak peaks' since December and still doesn't have an announced start date. I'm so over the teasing so badly I dl'd the eps. I say again, suits=stupid

Sigh....somteimes I think they're doing this just to fuck with my head.
