So does that make Cath starters? And Danny main course?

Or it just one big ole Steve Buffet?

So it's been a big week for TV yes?

Lets get the not as important premieres out of the way shall we?

Last Resort - I was on board with watching this just because of it's filming location, but it really surprised me. The synopsis that they used, did it no favors at all. The scenario that I thought was quite hinky actually turned out to be quite gripping. The have an adorable SEAL too, he's no Steve McGarrett, but for this he'll do.

Elementary - I went into this expecting to hate it, not that I'm a rabid Sherlock fan, but I really am quite lukewarm towards the three stars, but it also surprised me. Lucy Lui was far more likeable than I have ever seen her. And johnny Lee Miller was adorable.

Castle - I used to like Castle so much more, but now it just seems to have turned into a big romance fest for Beckett and Castle. It's good but now it's just the same as every other cop show.

Big Bang Theory - I don't know what I was expecting but I was disappointed. For a premiere it just seemed to fall flat for me.

NCIS - Dependable as always, and I'm glad they didn't kill off anyone that was important to me. Palmer just keeps surprising me, and McGee is still too thin.

NCIS:LA - I don't know why but I was less invested in this than I would be other years, maybe because the cliffhanger was more Sam and G focussed and LA is all about Deeks and Kensi for me, I dunno. It was good but it didn't ring my bells the same way that H50 did.

Okay, now for a round up of H50 things that I've seen floating around over the last few days. I'm cutting because the bulk of them are spoilers.

So how goes your weekends?

What Is Your Battle Cry?

Yea, verily: Who is that, striding out of the tarmac! It is Kapuahi, hands clutching a bladed baseball bat! She bellows gutterally:

"Hail the blood-letting! I burn with the holy fires of destruction!!"

So...

I spent yesterday at Supanova which ran the gamut from a really good time to simply bloody amazing. Met my favourite hobbit, spent some time in a queue with someone in a spectacular Bilbo costume. Incidentally discovered that Jar Jar is dating a Stormtrooper (for reals), spent some uncomfortable time in a queue directly in front of a pair of furries that were getting 'friendly' with each other, but day climaxed with a panel with my favourite hobbit who had 500 people in the palm of his hand, and was handing out free hugs.

Today? Am working on my bang fic, got an extension until monday morning I'm at 23k now so fingers crossed I won't have any interruptions and it will flow as well as it has been so far. Not bad when it underwent a total remake and was only 5k around this time last week

This incidentally could be considered a GIP, because a dear friend has gifted me with an icon that the PLWA will hate but it gleefully gives me curly toes, so I will be using it at the least provocation. I'm thinking it may just become my Review Icon until an excision occurs. I've promised anonimity to said pal, but public thanks were called for because of said joy. So thank you my friend.

How sad is it when it makes you teary to think of a reality tv contestant leaving the show.

There is an adorable pair of young guys on The Renovators. The pair of them have been alone at the house they're renovating almost since the start of the competition (teams started at 4). They both work like trojans, never argue with anyone, when any of the other teams need muscle they're the first to volunteer and always give 100% whether they're working on their house or someone elses. They had the smallest house, with the smallest budget, and have turned a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage into a three bed, 2 bath house with an entertainment deck and a pool for currently less than $50k. Every week their craftsmanship is praised by the judges, but because of their age and the fact that they're not particularly strong at styling the other teams discount them as no threat.

Each house is down to two members and this week they will be culling that down to one. Last night the pair of them were teary when they were asked about one of them leaving and said that they couldn't think about not doing this together.. I want to just squish the pair of them together and keep them as pets.

kapuahi: (H50 - Danny - Spoilers Here!)
So, I've watched it over and over, postulated over the reasons and how they can find resolution in the way that they've left us hanging quite cruelly over a hiatus that was way too long, that now that I know how it's resolved there are some things that I honestly feel betrayal.

Way too attached, much?

In lighter news, it's rather refreshing to have a Hawaiian tv series that doesn't answer a question with a dozen more. Yes, Lost, I am looking at you.

However, now that we-who-can't-leave-spoilers-alone, and you lucky SOB's that were at SOTB, know what happens, it's interesting to watch the finale again and see the results of what we now know written all over what we have seen without seeing so many times.
