Wanna go on a magickal Musical Tour?

So, it seems that I can't make myself shut up.

I have an enquiring mind and it wants to know something. Music and it's tenuous connection to the characters we watch if a big part of fic writing to me. Sometimes I will even have a band/artist that everything they do seems to give me plot bunnies for particular characters.

Is this the same for all you fellow writers?

Tonight's example would be Steve McGarrett. The song that I hear that automatically means Steve is Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day, but if we're talking emotionally it has to be I'll be Guilty.

Why? I'll tell you my reasons if you tell me your Steve songs. And while we're here, care to share?

Sadly, I have no clue how to share this with you, so I do apologize for that. Whenever I hear this song I picture Steve and Danny out on the lanai on a moonlit summers night.

Definitely! I keep a list of songs that remind me of characters as I come across them in a text file, so if I ever want to make a fanmix, I have a good jumping off point!

I have a McDanno playlist on my phone, an AngstySteve playlist and a Danny playlist. McDanno has over 100 songs. I can't even count the times I've been in a store and heard a song and gone, "Steve!" or "Danny!" and had to Soundhound it and buy it before I even leave. (1000 Ships by Rachel Platten comes to mind - STEEEVE!)

For me it's easier to write when I have some songs that work for the particular emotions in the fic, too. Helps me get into the mood.

I love 1000 ships. I'm pretty much a fic bunny music whore. I can hear songs and have an entire plot materialise in my tiny little brain. We will have to compare notes/playlists.

This is my Danny's big Steve seduction song in my head.

I'm totally a fic bunny music whore. I once had a 110K word epic that started from one little kernel out of a song.

And that song is AWESOME! I went to Amazon to try to buy it before it was even done, but it was not there. I must record it later...

I love World WIthout Sundays, I think they've broken up now, which is really sad.
