Ever since I can remember there has been a certain order of priority in television viewing in my house.

When new shows are discovered the interest level is measured by a couple of factors, which may or may not be:

Military
Police
Fire Department
Cowboys
Vampires

It's simple really. If you made a show that was about an army of Vampires who fought crime and fires in the old west I pretty much guarantee we would be riveted.

Now that you know the way our program choices go, and if you know me, you'll realise that a certain blonde 'actor' has stuffed up another program for me. Any guesses?

I may have availed myself of a copy of Chicago Fire. Because hello, Firefighters and Firetrucks. However, not two minutes in I had the H50 Season 2 teeth grinding going on.

Now she's spoiling the Mainland for me too.

So, are we excited yet?

I'm still pissed with missing SOTB especially since the crazy makers that were objectifying certain members of the cast were there front and centre making with the crazy last night. *Sigh* We're not all like that, honest.

And I'm a little concerned that the whole Steve's love interest debacle from last year is going to be repeated with Cath and I'm not ready for that. But on an upside this year I can't be accused of Mysogyny because I adore Cath/Michelle Borth.

I love Christine Lahti too, have hated a lot of her characters (She was an absolute bitch in SVU, wasn't she?) but shes an incredible actress and I can't wait to see what she brings out in the rest of the cast. Okay, okay, so I can't wait to see what she and Alex do...

*back to impatiently waiting for a link*

It's taken fifteen episodes to get there but I think now we're back on track with the show I know and want to love again.

Ha'i'ole was like part 2 of the season 1 finale, and teased us all with what we had come to expect from our show and set us up for a big ass fall. The introduction of Lori Weston, whether it was to reduce the gay, level up a gender bias, whiten up the cast, or a combination of all of them it was blatantly obvious that it wasn't working and wouldn't work.

Fandom erupted, the bulk of us hated her, the rest let their screams of misogny ring loud but you know what? The bulk of it wasn't Lauren German's fault. Was she up to the task? No not really, even watching her run makes me cringe, but that aside, it never should have gotten to that particular actress gracing our screens in that role.

Alex O'Loughlin has chemistry with everyone even the bloody Camaro but with her he ALWAYS looked uncomfortable, stilted and awkward and the rest of the cast were no better. If she was the best of four in a chemistry test, I hate to think how bad the others were. So no, it's not her fault it's the casting directors.

The rest of the blame has to lay with the writers, they have definitely dropped the ball this season. Even with our ability last season to disregard the AS IF moments in the scripts, the addition of characters that didn't sit right with the viewers along with poor writing only accentuated what ails them this season. Whether this was because they found themselves with an actress that wasn't really up to the job and had to scramble for a while and redistribute lines, or maybe they had trouble fitting the story around the new number of players. Or maybe they just suck. Who knows?

Whatever the cause, it's over, Joe is laying low, Lori fell on her own sword and we can hope that the last three relatively enjoyable episodes grow into 6-8 episodes of awesome, and we can know that we have our show back

More importantly the wingnuts that call themselves the production team can look at the shit they wrought this season and learn never to do that again.

I had lost the affection for reviewing my feelings for the show that had made me love it, because I had always been taught if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. It's shallow, but while the team was playing hot potato with Lori it was sucking all my enjoyment out of it. I still watched, because I'm as loyal as the day is long and I will officially watch ANYTHING our core four are in, so I'm on this particular ride until I run out of track, but later you may expect a review of tonight, and probably expect one every week from here on out. Just saying....

Well....

I'm home, I'm pretty much caught up I think. Responded to everyone I owe I think, so if you haven't heard from me and you were expecting can you give me a heads up? Only 203 days until I can go back.

Several things and it could get long winded (I can hear your shocked gasps from here. Behave!!) so have some cuts to save your flists.

So thats a subject line that is going to get me all sorts of nasty isn't it?

I'm kind of fond of Malia. Reiko was absolutely perfect in the scene where Chin was fixing his 'mistake'.

This led me in turn to a question or an observation of sorts.

What the fuck did they do? Why did they deliberately set Lori up for a fall? Because I can think of no other explanation for what they have done to that character.

Look at all the other regular and semi regular women on the show. Kono is kickass and adored. Catherine serves a purpose isn't pushed in our faces and is for the most part loved. Jenna might have been in the first wave of fandom hate, but she seemed to have overcome that and I at least loved her. We all seem to love Malia. Same for Governor Jameson. We may be split over Rachel but she's at least accepted for the most part. Mary can be contenious but she's accepted for the most part. Gabby has been there for what two episodes and and we're all making grabby hands to see more of her. Have I missed anyone?

And then there is Lori. They've jammed her between McDanno, used her to replace Kono, tried to push her on to Steve, given her the non existant babysitter role, made her an honest to God superwoman, and generally done everything they can to turn fandom against her. As a consequence 90% of fandom wants to push her out of whatever moving vehicle we see her in. They can't be that stupid, and they can't have lost their writing mojo over the last hiatus.

Why have they done this? Purpose?

You know I'm sick of being told that just because I and friends of mine don't like a character and happen to mention said dislike out loud that we're misogynist character bashers.

Get over yourselves people we'd hate her if she was a man, hell I'd hate her if she was a dog.

For the last time IT'S NOT BECAUSE SHE'S A WOMAN.

ETA: This May have been the post that precipitated this

No She was never a love interestbullshit

On a side note, does she do anything she was supposed to do?

ION: My sister just tried to kill me. We're sitting here watching one of our favourite movies - Armageddon. One of the characters said "I just blew a trannie." My sister turns to me and says "you know in a different crowd that could have almost been a completely different outcome. More pleasurable too!"

I swear I spat water all over the room.

I have a question that has been vexing me for a while now.

We all know that there was a team photo promo shoot done at the start of the season. Likewise we all know that it was the start of problematic team times in fandom (see look at the non bias I am working on). I know for a fact that there were five people in the 'team' shots, because I remember the shit fight that went on at comments made about said photo shoot.

Now I remember the photos and who was in them. Why are the pictures clearly being from that same shoot floating around the traps now consisting only of our original team. And the fifth member only appears in her own individual shots.

Am I having some sort of blind spot where she is concerned or am I right?

Because as much as Voldilori shouldn't be named is there some spell that means she can't be seen?
