It kinda just makes me want to throw things at him.
I'm sure I'll have plenty of reasons to complain about Lori in the ep later though. I just hope I'll have more reasons to praise the Steve/Danny living together love!
LG does work for him. I do think it would probably be pretty rude of him to retweet negative tweets about her. I'm hoping he's just doing it to make her feel better.
But thats the thing, it doesn't have to be the bad stuff, he could retweet any number of things about any member of the cast, but he chooses to only retweet the positive ass kissing tweets.
he's got six regular characters, if he wasn't trying to stir fandom up he could re tweet things about all of them, not just her. He's deliberately appearing to be seen as favouring her, whether he's defending an employee or his new favourite character it doesn't matter, he knows what he's doing.
In my books thats putting him in the being an asshole category.
I think Plenkov is pissed that the fans haven't accepted Lori the way he wanted us too. And this is just a list in a long line of his making mistakes with female characters:
First, the fans didn't like Mary and how Taryn Manning played her, so they had to write her off. Second, fans got angry at the reveal that Rachel and Danny were having an affair and she was pregnant with his child, so they had to rewrite that storyline. Third, fans reacted negatively to the Jenna Kaye character, so they had to change the direction of her character and make her Wo Fat's henchmen.
So now, I think he's shoving it in our faces that Lauren German/Lori is part of the team--they might have backed off the love interest route but he wants us to know that she has his support.
I really think the minority of fans that don't like/want a female character have really done the rest of fandom a huge disservice.
There are those of us that love (or are willing to give them a go because they have an interesting story that we WANT to delve into) the previous female characters. So that now that we have a character that essentially has limited back story, is not interesting and has been inserted in a way that makes it impossible for her to garner fans he sees it as 'OMG those women out there just can't deal with pretty women' and basically says screw you to all of us.
And to be honest, it isn't helping that it appears that they only backed off the love interest crap because of the huge backlash from fandom.
I have to admit, I find this annoying, too. I'm not very twitter-savvy so when I first saw them, I was all confused as to why I was seeing all that stuff. I don't have a smart phone so I'm only on Twitter when I go to my feed on my computer - I can only imagine how irritating it is for people who are seeing it constantly on their phones.
Seems to me to be not very good twitter-etiquette, if there is such a thing. The other celebs I follow only retweet stuff that's public service/charity-ish in nature or something randomly interesting/amusing they're commenting on while Peter's seem like they're saying "Look, people DO like her, take that you complainers". I haven't seen him retweet comments about the other characters/actors - just Lori. Or does he retweet every positive tweet he gets and I've just missed them?
I can't vouch for before she joined because I may have had a twitter account but never paid much attention to it until around the time Season 2 started.
But I've only occaisionally seen him answer questions that are posed to him about other characters (the infamous 'not everything happens on-screen" when he was asked about Steve and Danny interacting with Kono while she was undercover comes to mind) but the only things I have seen him retweet is the TeamLori stuff and then only the ones that say how wonderful she is and how much "WE' love her.
I don't mind him defending her if he wants/needs to but spread the love, don't just be the mouthpeice for her character and make the rest of fandom rise up against everything.

In my less optimistic moments I think it's just him being an asshole.
