Y'all know me, I overthink the crap out of things.

I had a thought earlier. There are five members of the team now. We all know that right?

As much as I would dance joyfully in response they're not going to leave their new golden child to be the fifth wheel, they're not going to waste all the time they have invested in her. After all, she hasn't had nearly enough time on screen yet to integrate her into fuck up the team yet has she?

Here's what I think. Chin and Kono are going to stay the same, and Kono can think herself lucky that she doesnt get to play partner to Loribot. Danny however, he's another matter completely. They've set themselves up to at least temporarily move Danny in with Steve. So in the scary minds of a television writer, that gives them their job done. Steve and Danny together, it should give them one definite scene an episode together, right? That leaves the way clear for Danny to mostly partner up with Loribot, which would leave Steve footloose and fancy free and doing 'bosslike' things.

Up to 123 I would have argued that these guys couldn't fuck anything up that badly but then they got Rachel pregnant and everything for the most part went to hell in a handbasket.

so....that's what I think, what do you think?

Also, anyone else think my Steve icon up there shares a slight resemblance to Point Break Keanu Reeves?

To me that definitely sounds like overthinking things and being slightly too worried. But that's just me! ^_^

Maybe I'm being a PollyAnna but I think Lori's going to be in more scenes with Chin and Kono, maybe each cousin taking a turn at investigating with her, leaving our lovely McDanno alone. Together. For hours on end :):)

Nope. I'm going to put my stupidly, irrationally, hopelessly optimistic hat on and tell myself they're done screwing with what works to THAT degree and will mostly leave Danny and Steve partnered. If for no other reason that all the hate mail is probably giving Lenkov ulcers. I say they'll mix up Lori/Chin/Kono for teaming up and manning the computer table/going to talk to Max, Fong, etc. And I would like to see the girls together some, actually. Would love to see Kono be all "why do I get stuck with Barbie?" at some point. Hee.

So yeah, Danny and Steve 80% partners - at least. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. =)

Last season I might have been optimistic and believed that they wouldn't do me wrong. This season I'm not quite as sure of them.

They would have done at least up to 206 before viewing reaction dipped. I'm thinking it will be at least 208 before we see things go back to what they really should be. so for the next three episodes we're going to be with pass the Loribot. And I can't help but think Danny is going to draw the short straw. Maybe because he's the only one with real manners.

Though I seriouslywant to see Kono use the Barbie line.

I think it will be more like 60/40.

I believe they were actually filming 2.08 when they aired 2.02 (a.k.a. The Episode That Needs To Be Wiped From Canon), so we've got at least three more episodes before anything starts to change.

If it does change. I'm hoping that TPTB aren't figuring that if they keep it up eventually we'll accept the new dynamic and get to know and love the Loribot.

I'll stop being a bitch now :)

In case it means anything, they were filming 2.06 (next week's episode) the Monday after Sunset on the Beach 2 (which was on Saturday, September 10th). Those "H50 Social Media Ambassadors" who post on Twitter & got to attend SOTB 2 for winning the CBS contest also got to visit the set the Monday after SOTB 2, which would've been Monday, September 12th. They 've been postng since yesterday that next week CBS is airing the ep they got to see filmed while they were in Hawaii for SOTB 2. Just saying.

And in the past few days or so, Masi Oka has Tweeted that he's read the script for 2.10. So I'm assuming that's what they're working on now or about to start working on.

Hey, don't be going on logical on me, missy. ;)

But yeah, you're probably right. Though I can also buy the theory that they threw Lori at us ad nauseum at first with the full intention of tapering her off by 2-5, just to introduce her, then have her be a more regular team member - because last night's ep was a much more manageable amount of Lori and that would have been in the can before people started making Lenkov voodoo dolls. But hey, what do I know. *goes back to being hopelessly optimistic*

And LOL at Danny and the short straw - he IS the only one with real manners. Can't you just hear that conversation... "You go with the new girl." "No, its your turn, I did it last time." And then yeah, Kono making a snarky Barbie remark. Hee.

You're missing the obvious here - Chin and Kono partner up, and Danny and the Loribot, and that leaves Steve free to spend all his time with his new partner Joe...

Fits rather too well, doesn't it? :(

I have to admit, that does fit, though I'm taking the utter absence of Joe in this ep as a good sign. In the end, though, me and my hopeless optimism are really hoping that Wo Fat kills Joe. =)

OK... I DON'T know how accurate this is, but ...

As far as Rachel's pregnancy is concerned, I vaguely remember someone posting a comment at the end of last season/over the summer hiatus (I think it was on Television Without Pity's H50 thread) that Claire van der Boom might be, or actually is, pregnant in real life. The poster who said this, however, DID NOT have any media report to link to confirming said statement. It was all their word alone.

If she IS pregnant in real life, that would make sense regarding the sudden writing in of Rachel being pregnant. It's their admirable, IMHO, attempt to accommodate Claire's condition by writing it into the plot instead of having her wear bulky clothes, which really aren't a "Hawaii" thing, or having to figure out other ways to cleverly conceal it that make sense in a show set in Hawaii, let alone having to write her out entirely because she can't fly in to film due to medical/airline restrictions based on what point of the pregnancy she's in at the time (she would be coming from either LA or Australia probably, depending; LA is normally a 5 or 6 hour plane ride to Hawaii & Sydney, Australia is, like, a 9-hour plane ride).

Although... If she IS pregnant, in real life, maybe that's why they've kept Rachel (& even Grace) offscreen thus far in S2. That would make sense too. Although they could easily have brought Gracie back before now seeing as Gracie was seen in at least 3 S1 episodes before we ever actually saw/met Rachel in person.
