So everyone is entitled to an opinion but after seeing this i wonder if the (currently) 47 people who think she is fun and fresh are watching the same show I am.
Also, the (currently) 5 who like her just to see her hook up with McGarrett deserve a healthy dose of HELL!No right before they are skewered on BBQ forks!

Date: 2011-10-30 11:20 pm (UTC)What I really don't get is people accusing me of being misogynistic and anti-feminism for not liking THIS PARTICULAR female character.
If I loved what she was doing on the show, I'd campaign for her to the producers to improve her storyline and portrayal.
But, I can't see that the character adds anything to the team, and the actress is just. not. good. enough.
So yes, given the option, I'd like to see her gone. AND I'd like to see Kono being given more screen time.
As a friend of mine pointed out, the show has two powerful male leads. The biggest attraction of the show was their dynamic, as well as with that of the team. So when a character gets thrown into the middle of that dynamic and messes it up, as well as steals screen time from the other characters for no reason, yeah, I'm going to be dissatisfied.
I'm sorry but this doesn't mean I need to go on a crusade for women in film.

And my dislike of the character isn't misogyny, it's a dislike of poor writing and bad acting. Gender should never be an excuse for mediocrity.
