Tonight it was halloween in Australia. We don't generally do Halloween, because as most of the population has declared it's too American. Yeah, I don't know either. Because you know what, I'm the idiot that does the entrance to my house up with pumpkins, black cats and cobwebs.

So I did my normal thing and donned my 'we're not celebrating an american institution' costume ie. I get to be a real witch one night of the year. I have my pumpkin bowl at the front door with all sorts of chocolates and sweet treats (which usually end up with us eating them over the course of the next week).

Tonight my bowl is empty. We had 6 witches, 4 devils, 2 fairies, 2 angels, 2 scream ghosts, a soldier, a sailor, a pirate, a demon and the most adorable 2yo Captain Jack that I have ever seen (and for those of you keeping count that would be Harkness not Sparrow) and his Parents who were doing a fair Ten and Rose impersonation.

Apparently that silly American tradition is taking hold in my neighbourhood.

Also...

Some days I really love my fandom.

This is one reason why.

Oh man, everybody loves Halloween--who can resist a holiday celebrating candy? Good for you for celebrating it and encouraging others :)

And yes, anti-Lori comments are a wonderful thing to read :)

I know I don't get it. Candy is always good.

It's not just that they're anti Lori comments, its that every single one of them could almost be considered eloquent in comparison to the name slinging that is starting to come from the pro Lori component of fandom.
