Season 3 casting

So Christine Lahti has been cast, who as we're not sure, but it's a fair bet she's Steve's Mum. If the writers can manage to carry off having three strong women in the one cast (and that's a big ask that they don't fuck up Catherine the same way they did Lori) I think she'll be good.
And yes I know that the H50 production crew have been waiting for my approval. *snert*
I loved her recurring role in Law and Order:SVU. She's not the unknown entity Lauren German was. I already know that she can do tough, smart, sassy and clearly the actress doesn't mind skirting the edge of good and bad with the characters she plays, so there is the possibility of Steve's mum being good or bad, and her being able to carry it off. She's not too dissimilar in looks to Alex to be unbelievable. I like it. If the writers don't drop the ball (and I don't think that was completely ball dropping, I think there was a lot of compensation scrambling going on that they just couldn't completely cover) for a second season we might just be back to season 1 standards and live to fight another season.
However, now they'll go and cock it all up and make her the Governor's wife or Grace's Grandma or something, so we all start the season with a great big WTF? all over again.
