So I hope you're all watching Revolution/Walking Dead and taking notes.

Vote the wrong way and I'm pretty sure you're all (and by extension the rest of us) are on the path to one or the other of them.

And I'm pretty sure y'all know which way I lean.

So I like to think I'm a polite driver, and maybe it's just me but when someone does something nice/polite on the road for me I acknowledge, a shaka, a nod or a thank you in the mirror if it's a close nice thing. It annoyed me today, I was caught in a traffic snarl on the highway ad becuase I like to think that the whole pay it forward thing will happen (or people treat you the way you treat them) I always let a car or two in at the on ramps. It doesn't hurt since you're both at a creawl anyway right? Well by the time I got to my exit I had let 11 cars into the traffic in front of me. What did I get for my troubles? One hand wave and one flipped bird.

I was seriously like What the Hell, it doesn't cost you anything to wave a thank you.

Do y'all expect a nod or some acknowledgement of good deeds done?

Who knew!

So I'm sitting here last night with four works in progress open and not progressing when I had a thought. A thought about a completely different fic.

Those of you whe know me well know that I have this fic that I have been sitting on since about a month after I got into this fandom. It's set at the end of Season 1, and starts when Steve is still in prison. It's a Hawaii Five-0/Moonlight/The Shield/Three Rivers/Criminal Minds/Whiteout Crossover that is already 25k long, but because so much time has slipped away between when I started and now, (mainly beecause I was wrangling with a plot inconsistency) I was concerned it was never going to be finished. Last night I had an epiphany of sorts. Only problem is that I need to make Doris something i'm not sure she is yet, oh that and I might have to add Law & Order:SVU to the crossover mix, and probably break 150k.

I'm guessing that most of the world has seen that Gangam Style Youtube video that once it gets in your head is there forever. This, however, is hysterical and so take-the-piss-out-of-yourself-Aussie that I'm highly amused. Aussie friends might be amused, all others will probably be confused. If you have any questions I'm here.

kapuahi: (Personalised - Steve)
I want to love you honestly I do, you're good and you're pacy and witty and you have characters that make me care but OMG every time that bleached barbie is on screen I grind even more enamel off.
kapuahi: (Personalised - Steve)
I knew there was a lot, but I hadn't realised there were so many (also they left out two more from Last Resort)

kapuahi: (Personalised - Steve)
I haven't read anyone's reviews, I haven't clicked on a comm, I don't want to because it usually just gets my blood pressure up, but I know things are going to come up. Two things before we start.

* Have you never lied to a partner/spouse/booty calls parent/sibling/room mate about going to work just so you don't have to chew your arm off to get out of the interrogation morning of awkward? I know I have.

* She's not on Five-0 she's not working cases, she's doing favors for Steve. And I don't think he's using her that's how the pair of them phrase it in their own language. It works for them. I'm sure if Cath had 'favors' to ask of Steve he'd do them just as rapidly as she does for him. Thats what friends do.

All that said? What did I think of this episode?

Cath is made of Awesome.

that is about all.

ETA: FYI because I know this is going to come up, Steve wasn't being sexist or wtf else he's going to be accused of for calling Danny a Girl. Deal with it people thats what men do In fact in the real world he would have called him a pussy. Again, not sexist, just.what. men. do. Hell not even men. My sister bitches at me in just that tone, in fact almost that exact conversation all the time. What? It's alright for us to do because we're female and not for blokes. Those double standards are coming back out again.
kapuahi: (Personalised - Steve)
So apparently I need to stop getting attached to Last Resort? I hope they leave it long enough to get resolution from the story line. Also if it does go at least that is another option for the currently homeless H50.

Also why is Barbie's the only show of this years new crop that I'm trying out, that looks like it will survive. Incidentally my shows I'm trying this season are Last Resort, New Normal, Elementary, Guys with Kids, Chicago Fire, Vegas, Beauty and the beast & Partners. I gave up on 666 Park Avenue because it wasn't doing it for me and Arrow and Revolution are on my list i just haven't had time yet. Also I'm sad Body of Proof is probably going, Nicholas Bishop is my second favorite Aussie on US TV, and also they have Luke Perry. What's not to love?

kapuahi: (Personalised - Steve)
I may have committed Steve/Cath, Steve/Danny fic, follow the link if you're of a mind to Behind Every Good Man...

Oh and just in case you're concerned, the Steve/Cath is Gen/PG, I've not delved into het fic territory just yet.
kapuahi: (Lost - Emilie)
So, in a break from my obsessive H50 ramblings, I found this.

Carmina Burana is all sorts of Awesome. My state ballet company performs it every three or four years.

Also points to anyone who names the link between my icon and this post.
kapuahi: (H50 - Cath - Steve in Bed)
I don't write Het, but with every time there is a pissy little bitchfight about the appearance of Cath I really really wish that I did.

However, I'd love to see what they would do if they found this as a spoiler somewhere on the net.

"Cath, I've been thinking. Something Danny said to me while we were out there has been bothering me and I know now what I need to do. " He takes hold of Catherine's hands and sinks to one knee...Danny asked me why i dont call you my girlfriend and... well i cant really say other than that i know that doesnt feel right. It doesnt feel like enough. "

* written by an unstoppably snarky friend who incidentally is a McDanno shipper who can tell the difference between Canon and Fanon.

I can almost hear the batshit crazy's head exploding from here.

Sometimes this fandom makes me ashamed to say that I'm a fan.
kapuahi: (Default)
I have a whole fic series trying to outline itself in my head, but I can't quite get it to sit straight. Why? Because the most important part of the series - the timing and locations - I can't read.

Why so cryptic? Not really. I want to see the conflicts on the only obscured panel on this ) photo.

Translation? There is a whole series of fics waiting for the stroy behind how Steve got his medals, but I'm not even thinking about it until I can read where he's been.

A star-studded cast wants you to sign!

The Bill of Reproductive Rights is an effort by the Center for Reproductive Rights to deliver a thundering statement—backed by hundreds of thousands of signatures from concerned citizens like you—to the U.S. Congress and the President that they must guarantee and protect reproductive rights as fundamental human rights and stop the attacks by politicians who want to take those rights away.

Draw the line! Sign the Bill of Reproductive Rights!

kapuahi: (Tour of Duty - Home is Where you Dig It)
It's been raining all day here today. So it's been cold and miserable. I don't like cold and miserable. So what have I been up to?

I spent a lot of the day having a 'Tour of Duty' Marathon. I forget how much I love those guys and seeing that era portrayed on screen. Also I don't watch it enough. When they released the DVD's here they stripped the 60's music from it so, for me at least, they stripped at least half the soul from the show, but one of our cable stations has been playing it and I get my music back, including my beloved theme. It was funny watching it and seeing familiar Kualoa Ranch/Hawaiian locations, [livejournal.com profile] fatorangekat you'll know, was it only the first season they filmed there?

This evening I've been capping all the H50 episodes because I don't have a complete set of the good quality caps, but now I does.

I'm happily putting together the daily post for AOL daily as well, it's such a hardship wading through AOL pics, but I'm happy to take one for the team.

Also, I have a question for my wise and astute friends list.

Who thinks Danny is afraid of the water? I don't.
kapuahi: (Quotes - Seriously)
So most of you don't know this but I like to knit. As a result I'm on a local yahoo group email list that knits for the needy/homeless in our city. Most of the people on the list are elderly, in fact a good deal of them are nuns. Adventurous, some of them have other hobbies, like snorkelling, cycling, hiking, camping, as i found out today one of them, an 82 year old nun goes scuba diving.

Anyways, I'm digressing, there was a new member today (or if she's been there for a while I've never noticed her, and trust me I would - you would too).

Her yahoo name is MaryMuffdiver. After I'd finished choking on my Coke because I received an email from her, I had a chat with her in the groups chat room. She's an 82 year old nun, her passion outside of the church is knitting and scuba diving with the youth group attached to her church, and she knits what she calls muff's for the homeless (knitted tubelike things they can slip their hands into for warmth).

I'm not sure she realises that her name is - problematic, and im not sure if Yahoo gave it to her or one of the 'well meaning' kids in the youth group helped her, but I didn't have the heart or the expertise to explain to her why she should change it.

So here's a picture that was too pretty not to share. It's from a future ep so I've marked it spoiler, but I'm not sure exactly what it's spoiling. They drive a Camaro? Steve wears cargo pants? They both wear Tac vests? who knows, but I'm wary of the spoiler police.

here tis )

Lookie, I may have committed Coda to 3.03 and it's not my usual fare, it may be Chin & Steve.

If'n you're interested you might find it here - Grief

Also on a random note? The Steve in my icon always reminds me of Speed Keanu, am I right?
